Inside the Northeast Procase: 2022 RHP Braden Consaul (Fairport/USC-Upstate)

Consaul checks in as the No. 15 ranked player in the New York 2022 class. The USC-Upstate commit is no stranger to PBR having attended several events over the course of the last three years. Consaul's frame is durable, thick-strong lower half, with a starters build standing 6-foot-2, 220-pounds. Repeatable delivery with pace, long clean arm-swing releasing the ball from a high 3/4 slot. The FB peaked last summer at 89.2 (2200 spin) via trackman while also showing an average movement of 20 inches. To compliment his FB, the western NY righty shows a quality two pitch mix (CH and Slider). 

The CH is firm sitting 82 mph with some arm-side tail, however I'd like to see him slow that pitch down a few mph's in order to utilize the deceptive nature of the CH. For me his slider is an above average offering where he shows confidence to attack in any count. The slider shows tight spin (2300) with late 11/5 shape. If the CH improves I could easily see Consaul as a starter at the next-level. Excited to see what gains he has made this February at our Northeast Procase.
