Current Ranking: 69th Overall
BASE CAMP
Currently in the PBR NY rankings, Sisto sits 129th overall in the 2020 Class and 14th for this position which covers the entire state. Offensively, the righty sets up in a tall, balanced, athletic position. He shows quick hands allowing the barrel to stay inside the ball utilizing good plate coverage. Has an upward lift barrel action showing good gap to gap power with consistency driving the ball up the middle and to the pull side. He shows good awareness and fluid hitting mechanics from pre-pitch to the follow through. Defensively, utilizes athletic footwork to get in front of the baseball. Quick with his hands to get the ball into his chest with a smooth transition into the throwing position. Moves well left/right and in on the run with a quick release towards his target.
THE ASCENT
Sisto has recorded positive numbers in his attended PBR - New York Events. His best exit velocity and positional arm velocity recording were set at the CNY All-Star Games this past September 2018 with an 84 MPH reading for exit and a 79 MPH mark for arm velocity. Both these numbers have improved from his first attended event which was February 2018 with recordings of an 81 MPH exit velocity and 69 MPH positional arm velocity. We’ve seen his footwork improve on the infield and the bat continues to show added pop. Sisto also features a more lean frame then when we saw him over the summer.
REACHING THE SUMMIT
"In order to continue to work his way up through the PBR - New York rankings, we’d like him offensively to drive the ball to all fields. Sisto already has good ability spraying the ball pull side and up the middle but with the ability to drive the ball the other way, this would make him a viable threat every time he entered the batters box. Defensively with his fluid mechanics he will need to continue quicken his footwork and overall footspeed while continuing to develop his arm strength as he progresses though his development. Overall, with a quicker first step and added strength development, Sisto would improve in all phases of the game and be a key player on for his Liverpool squad this coming spring."
PLAYER COMPARISON*
*Note: Many times coaches will ask our staff "Who does he remind you of?" Player "comps" are a popular tool in the scouting/recruiting world and we have decided to add that niche to our feature articles. Sometimes it's within the physical build, the numbers, the actions or a combination of all three.
