Las Vegas Top Prospect Games - Quick Hits (2027’s)

The Las Vegas Top Prospect Games kicked off an exciting Summer season with one of the most talented events in Prep Baseball Nevada's history. The depth of talent has forced us to break up our Quick Hits feature by Class to make sure we all players to receive proper recognition. At the two day Las Vegas Top Prospect Games, players received an unrivaled amount of data, including, Swift Performance Athletic Testing, Vizual Edge Analysis, TrackMan Analyzed Batting Practice Sessions, Blast Motion Analyzed Batting Practice Sessions, TrackMan Analyzed Pitcher Evaluations and Prep Baseball Verified Height / Weight / Grip Strength Testing. This event allowed players to show their developed skill through objective data collection, followed by Live Game Play to allow for in-game action to also be tracked and highlighted.

Quick Hits - 2027 Prospects
+ Colton Christman, LHP 2027, LSU Commit - The future Tiger has already made an impression on the National scene with present tools on both sides of the ball, putting them all on display at the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games. The incoming sophomore lead a number of key metrics including Top TrackMan Fastball Velocity at 90.7 mph and Top Outfield Velocity at 96 mph. During his outing on the mound, his slider showed significant improvement in both shape and command, used to strike out two hitters out of the five faced. Christman will be representing Nevada the Prep Baseball ProCase - West next weekend at Pepperdine University.

+ Dillon Lee, 2027 IF - Lee has already proven to have advanced actions on both sides of the ball with present physical strength throughout his 6-foot-1 frame. His 98.7 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity and 92.8 mph Average Exit Velocity showed not only that he has present power, but he has the consistent ability to find the barrel. Lee is a player you can expect to make a significant jump up the 2027 Rankings in the next few weeks.

+ Stone Amsden, 2027 OF/LHP - The two-way prospect showed off advance feel on the mound, but shine at the plate with consistent, easy barrels throughout his Batting Practice Session that translated well to the Live Game Play where he registered a double to right field. Though still possessing youthful features, the actions are there and his game will continue to trend as he continues to develop physically.

+ Matthew Smoot, 2027 IF/OF - Arguably the biggest winner of the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games for the 2027 Class was Matthew Smoot. Measuring in at 6-foot-4, 191.8 pound, the 2027 put on a show from both sides of the plate during his Batting Practice Session, leaving the yard multiple times with a TrackMan Exit Velocity of 101.0 mph and an Average Exit Velocity of 90.8 mph. Smoot proved he is a "gamer" during the Live Game Play portion on Day 2, hustling around the field, making plays and registering a double to left field. This is another prospect you can expect make a jump up the 2027 Class Rankings.

+ Brody Newquist, 2027 OF/RHP - The 2027 Class continues to show its depth with another impressive offensive performance, this one from Brody Newquist. The Palo Verde product earned the Top TrackMan Exit Velocity for the 2027 Class at 101.8 mph as well as the Top Average Exit Velocity at 93.9 mph. The power numbers are expected to only trend upward as he continue to fill out his 6-foot-3, 164.2 pound frame over the next few years.

+ Dallon Cegavske, 2027 OF - Cegavske put together arguably one of the Top Batting Practice Sessions of the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games, leaving the yard multiple times with present, easy power, especially to the pull side. His 100.3 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity ranks him 4th among the 2027's in attendance, while his Blast Motion Max Bat Speed of 80.4 mph ranked him 3rd among 2027's. You can expect these numbers to continue progress over the next few years with plenty of size and strength to come as he fills out his 5-foot-11 frame.

+ Liam Radke, 2027 RHP - A standout at the 2023 Junior Future Games, Radke continued to impress at the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games. His 85.8 mph TrackMan Fastball Velocity ranked him 3rd among 2027's in attendance with advanced command and feel for each of his three pitches. The secondary mix may have proven to be the most polished of the 2027's in attendance with up to 18.5 inches of Horizontal Movement on his changeup while he spun his slider up to 2613 rpm that saw up to 15.9 inches of horizontal movement.

+ Alec Kajioka, 2027 IF - The Bishop Gorman / LVR product was a key part of Team Nevada at the 2023 Junior Future Games and put his athletic actions on display at the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games. The rangy defender showed off clean, fluid actions up the middle during the Defensive Evaluations to go with his compact, efficient swing that produced line drives throughout his round. Kajioka will be a middle infielder to keep on your radar for the 2027 Class.

+ Connor Long, 2027 IF/RHP - Long is another incoming sophomore who put together a massive offensive performance during his Batting Practice Session, registering a 100.9 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity with an Average Exit Velocity of 93.6 mph, proving his ability to find consistent barrels. His 76.7 mph Blast Motion Peak Bat Speed ranked him 5th among 2027's with much more expected to come as he continues to develop physically. Long is a "gamer" type with present, advanced feel for the game, making him another Nevada 2027 that you'll want to follow closely over the next few years.

+ Ethan Gordon, 2027 OF - The Faith Lutheran / LVR product quietly put together another impressive performance at the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games, improving on almost every metric collected. Gordon has proven that he can get it done at the plate with a consistent line drive producing swing that saw him register a new best 90.6 mph Average Exit Velocity while flashing the power potential that has already started to trasition into present power with his 98.6 mph Max Exit Velocity. Keep an eye on Gordon as a potential impact type bat that looks to continue to trend over the next few years.

+ Eli Leone, 2027 IF - Though Leone only was albe to participate in the Day 1 Pro-Style Workout, he still made a positive impression on the Prep Baseball Nevada staff. Coming from Big League Bloodlines, his action on both sides of the ball have conitinue to progress with a more fluid fielding process to go with improved lateral range. On the offensive side, we saw his power potential now starting to shine through as he registered a new personal best TrackMan Exit Velocity of 95.7 mph. The actions are there and his continued physical development will help his game continue to trend as it has over the past 6 months.
