QUICK HITS

+ Kash Wieger, 2025 IF (Arbor View) - Weiger comes off a successful summer with Canes West, producing one of the top batting practice sessions during the Las Vegas Summer ID, showcasing his easy power to the big part of the yard with a 99.7 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity. His balanced set up maintained throughout his swing with present strength in his lower half. Projected to be a big piece of the Arbor View lineup this upcoming Spring, Grubbs is an infielder that we expect to continue drawing serious interest heading into the Fall.

+ Nick Collingbourne, 2026 RHP (SECTA) - The Prep Baseball Verified 6-foot-2, 182 pound right-hander put together arguably the top bullpen session of the Las Vegas Summer ID with his fastball velocity trending along with a secondary mix that flashed present polish. An even, consistent tempoed delivery with his fastball running up to an event best 85.6 mph, with much more expected to come, to go along with his split change that he showed advanced feel for and a breaking ball that showed flashes of depth and flashes of sweep. This will be another arm to know in an impressive SECTA rotation heading into the 2025 Spring season.

+ Eddie Peterson, 2027 C/IF (Bishop Gorman) - The incoming sophomore came into the Las Vegas Summer ID off a successful Summer with GBG Vegas and continued to prove why he’s one of the top bats in Nevada 2027 Class. His mature, line drive filled batting practice session showcased his ability to stay in his legs exceptionally well throughout his swing, never getting cheated with advanced barrel awareness. Along with his standout offensive performance, he also excelled behind the plate, earning the event’s Top Catcher Pop Time with a 1.91 Prep Baseball Verified Pop Time to go with his easy, confident receiving action and present flexibility in his set up. Peterson is projected to have his breakout Spring in 2025 with a talented Bishop Gorman group.

+ Jet McNelis, 2026 OF (Green Valley) - McNelis immediately announced his presence with his improves size and strength coming into play during his batting practice session where he produced multiple personal best’s throughout the workout, including: TrackMan Exit Velocity - 97.4 mph, Laser Timed 60 - 7.04 (1st), Outfield Velocity - 90 mph (T-1st). Living mostly to the pull side throughout his round, the power potential has turned into present, pull side power with more expect come. One of the biggest jumps for McNelis was his improved Outfield Velocity, where he shared the top spot with a 90 mph throw, up from his 80 mph max just over a year ago. This will be another prospect that we expect to have their breakout year this upcoming Spring.

+ Logan Grubbs, 2027 OF/1B (Palo Verde) - Arguably the biggest winner at the Las Vegas Summer ID, Grubbs has made significant strides in just few months, putting up big numbers on the offensive side of the ball with a massively projectable frame. At a Prep Baseball Verified 6-foot-6 (and growing), 192.2 pounds, their is a lot to like about this player with an advanced feel at the plate with his power tool already starting to shine through as he posted on of the event’s Top TrackMan Exit Velocities at 100.7 mph, along with the Top Blast Hand Speed at 23.5 mph and Top Blast Bat Speed at 75.2 mph. Still at only 15 years old, this is a prospect that is still just starting to see his game come together with an incredibly high ceiling and the present tools that we only expect to get better over the next three years. Keep an eye on Grubbs to make his way up the 2027 Class Rankings.

+ Teirnon Wolf, 2025 IF (SECTA) - The incoming senior continues to impress each time out with us, putting up numbers that always land him at or near the top of most leaderboard that apply to him and he did so again at the Las Vegas Summer ID. Once he got settled into his round, the ball started jumping off his bat, leading to him producing the Top Exit Velocity at 103 mph via TrackMan with his approach helping him live in the big part of the yard. Wolf then hopped on the mound where he showed an intriguing mix of pitching along with a mix of arm slots that should cause some fits at the plate this upcoming Spring. This is another player on a SECTA squad that broke into the Top 10 last Spring and we expect to make some noise this coming Spring.

______________________________________________________________

+ Bennett Gonzalez, 2026 C/UT (Faith Lutheran) - This 2026 came into the Las Vegas Summer ID as an Under the Radar prospect and he will be Under the Radar no more. Coming off a big summer with One National, he made his presence known early with a loud batting practice session where he did not get cheated on a single pitch and saw him produce a 98.4 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity. His ability at the plate mirrored his ability behind the plate with his present strength in his hands and forearms allowing him to receive with ease, sticking pitches at the bottom of the zone to go along with Prep Baseball Verified 1.96 Pop Time. His standout defensive performance didn’t stop there as he put up event bests in both Infield Velocity (90 mph) and Outfield Velocity (90 mph). Gonzalez is projected to have a breakout Spring for the Crusaders with his game just now taking shape for what could be a very interesting prospect to follow.

______________________________________________________________

+ Isaiah Alba, 2027 IF (Green Valley) - The 2023 Junior Future Games standout had himself a day on both sides of the ball with a line drive filled batting practice session then showed off arguably the top defensive actions with present range on display at the Las Vegas Summer ID. At 5-foot-11, 145 pound, the still youthful build leads you to believe that he will continue to add significant size and strength over the next few years with each part of his game projecting to amplify with those strength gains. Alba has proven himself as a Swiss Army Knife type player, mixing in both infield and outfield last Spring for Green Valley with him expected to do the same in his upcoming sophomore campaign. Keep this one on your radar as a “gamer” type that will only get better in the years to come.

+ Payton Bryan, 2026 RHP (Shadow Ridge) - Bryan impressed during his TrackMan Bullpen Session, commanding each of his three pitches in the zone with a loose, clean arm that repeated arm speed well. His Fastball topping out at 84.1 mph (with more to come) showed present life with a Max Induced Vertical Break of 17.3 inches and a Max Horizontal Movement of 15.6 inches. The changeup showed present heaviness that worked well off his fastball and a developing breaking ball the flashed some later tight action with consistency to come. Another intriguing arm to come out of Shadow Ridge with more to come.

______________________________________________________________

+ Jacob Freitas, 2025 LHP (Bishop Gorman) - Coming off a successful summer on the mound for Wow Factor Nevada, Freitas is set to make an impact during his senior year for Bishop Gorman. A crafty lefty that understands his game on the mound with deception and feel for each of his pitches that he showed a consistent ability to locate. This is an arm that will give hitters different looks, especially after a power right handed arm, that could cause fits for opposing hitters this upcoming Spring and beyond.
