Fall Campus Tour: UNLV - Quick Hits
November 10, 2024
On Saturday, November 9th, the Prep Baseball Nevada staff hosted it's final showcase of the 2024 season with the Campus Fall Tour - UNLV hosted on the campus of the University of Nevada - Las Vegas at Earl E. Wilson Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event featured players from the Las Vegas area but it was a strong, talented group that are all still uncommitted.
We had prospects in the 2025 - 2027 classes with all players running through a full workout alongside our tech partners TrackMan, Blast Motion, VALD Performance and Physical/Athletic Testing.
Fall ID/Campus Tour Events serve as one final chance for players to showcase their gains and development over the past year before baseball slows down to close out 2024.
Today, we begin our post-event coverage within our Quick Hits, highlighting our immediate standouts from the event with Stat Leaderboards coming out over the next few days.

Quick Hits
Hogan Hawkins SS / OF / Silverado, NV / 2026The Silverado product shined at his first Prep Baseball event with his present tools on full display on both sides of the ball. The switch-hitter got his day started off by showcasing his ability to drive the ball from both sides of the plate with flashes of pull side power, especially from his LH swing. Defensively, he is the definition for a Swiss Army Knife type player, a shortstop that can hold down any position on the field. We even challenged him to get work in behind the plate to see if his athleticism could translate back there and he went on to earn the Top Pop Time of the event with a raw, Prep Baseball Verified 1.92, to go along with feel in both the set up and receiving. Hawkins is inserted himself into the conversation of one of top Uncommitted prospect in Nevada’s 2026 Class. |
Alex Scaggs 3B / 1B / Legacy, NV / 2027The 2027 continues to see his game trend as he produces on of the, if not the, most impressive offensive performance of the event. Coming off is breaking high school campaign as a freshman, Scaggs has only seen his game improve with the help of his work to get stronger physically, translating directly to numerous new personal best including - Max Exit Velocity - 100.9 mph, Average Exit Velocity - 92.9 mph, Max Distance - 380 feet, Hand Speed - 21 mph, Hard Hit % - 71% and Infield Velocity 80 mph. This is going to be a player to follow in Nevada’s 2027 Class with present tools that only project to get better over the next 3 years. |
Logan Schouten LHP / 1B / Moapa Valley, NV / 2025A small school product out of Moapa Valley, Schouten put on a big performance on both sides of the ball with a loud Batting Practice Session followed by an improved mix on the mound with his velocity continuing to trend. Offensively, he showed off his ability consistently find the barrel with flashes of present power to the pull side with even more expected to coming. Improved physicality has translated to better actions and increased range defensively. And, on the mound, he flashed feel for his Slider with his Fastball seemingly just scratching the surface at 84.8 mph with little use of the lower half. Schouten is a 2025 that we project to be on more than a few radars as he heads in to his Senior season. |
Eli Leone 3B / SS / Faith Lutheran High School, NV / 2027Each time Leone takes the field at a Prep Baseball event, you see his game continue to trend in the right direction, paralleling his physical development that seems to be amplifying each part of his game. Limited to just working out on the offensive side of the ball, Leone still made an impression on the Prep Baseball Nevada staff with a loud Batting Practice Session, where he produced a 95.1 mph TrackMan Max Exit Velocity to go with his 87 mph Average Exit Velocity. We project this upcoming Spring to be his breakout season at Faith Lutheran as they are set to be one of the favorites to raise the State Title trophy in May. |
Kosta Filipovic RHP / 1B / Palo Verde, NV / 2026Arguably no one at the Fall Campus Tour: UNLV has seen their game improve as much as Filipovic where he improved almost every one of his pitching metrics. The Prep Baseball Verified 6-foot-4, 218.5 pound right hander earned the events Top Fastball Velocity at 85.5 mph, up +7 mph from his last event with us, with a Max Induced Vertical Break of 19.3 inches and a Max Horizontal Movement of 21.3 inches. His secondary Curveball/Slider secondary mix has also continued to improve with much more feel and ability to locate down in the zone. Keep an eye on Filipovic to be a key contributor in the Sierra Vista rotation this upcoming Spring. |
Ben Kiserow LHP / 1B / Spanish Springs, NV / 2025The Spanish Springs product out of Northern Nevada impressed during his outing on the mound as he got the pitching portion of the Fall Campus Tour: UNLV started. Present feel for his mix that saw his Fastball run up to a TrackMan Verified 83 mph with consistent strikes in the zone make him a player to follow as he heads into his Senior campaign for the Cougars. |
Marvin Reed Espejo 2B / SS / Shadow Ridge, NV / 2026Espejo is another player that has seen his game continue to trend over the last year with improvements made throughout and he still seems to just be scratching the surface of what is to come. The biggest jump has been made at the plate with his loud BP Session producing a new personal best TrackMan Exit Velocity of 96.2 mph along with a new best Max Distance of 349 feet. His improved lateral range and flow through the ball were noticeably improved with more range expected to come as he his foot speed progresses. |
