Uncommitted Upperclass Spotlight: Joel Lindahl III
November 11, 2020
Joel Lindahl comes out of the same high program as former first round pick, Bryce Harper, in Las Vegas High School. He immediately announced his presence with obvious athleticism after posting an event best 6.79 Laser Timed 60. He then went on to produce one of the most impressive rounds of batting practice during the Uncommitted Upperclass event with over half of his swings registering an Exit Velocity of 94+ mph via TrackMan. His consistent ability to drive the ball to the big part of the yard while flashing some present pull side power makes him an interesting prospect who in a normal year would already have his college destination set. Defensively, he showed clean actions through the ball with that would allow the corner infielder to potentially hold down his position at third base, but has the capabilities to potentially hold down a middle infield position as well. He showcased an ability to range laterally with feel for the backhand working smoothly into his high ¾ arm slot. Keep an eye on Lindahl as he may be one of the next prospects to come off the board in the 2021 class.
