As the we begin the Winter Season, heading into the first "normal" Spring since 2019, the next few months will be critical for players in the Class of 2022 as collegiate programs at each level are solidifying their recruiting rosters. The NCAA Recruiting Calendar allows for limited contact during the current time period and as a result of that, recruiting coordinators have turned to social media and website coverage of players to help provide objective insight on potential prospects. With that, we will begin highlighting the top prospects the Silver State has to offer in an effort to get our players with college aspirations an opportunity at the next level, wherever that may be with the Uncommitted Spotlight feature.

ryan martinez - centennial | RHP 

The Team Nevada representative at the inaugural West Coast Games is a player that has continued to trend over the past year after with his role continuing to increase for Centennial, projecting him to be one of the top arms in the rotation for a Bulldogs team that expects to make a deep run this upcoming Spring. Martinez has seen significant physical development from this time last year and his arm strength has begun to make the jump to mirror his strength and size gains. The separator for him is his understanding of his ability on the mound, he is not the type that will blow it by you, but he combats that with his pitchability where he has shown command for each of his three pitches in just about any count. That, paired with the projected jump in velocity over the next few months could catapult Martinez into one of the most sought after arms in Nevada's 2022 Class.
