Scouting Report

Arizona recruit. Listed at 6-foot-4, 190-pounds, Whitaker has a lean and athletic frame, and remains compact throughout a polished, repeatable delivery. Exit velocity topping out at 103 with a smooth swing. Whitaker possesses a flat through the zone bat path and an average bat speed of 73.5 mph. Combine that with a 6.5 sixty time, and Whitaker has tools to be a dominant gap to gap hitter at the next level. Defensively, he can project well in both OF and INF spots. He has the ability to read balls off the bat well and compliments it with a strong 93mph arm. In the INF, Whitaker has a good understanding of varying arm angles to make a good throw.
