#TeamNevada Commitment Tracker: Ethan Clauss
November 16, 2021
This past summer saw the top players in our state joined together to create Team Nevada and represent our state against the top Uncommitted prospects from around the country at the Junior Future Games, Future Games and the inaugural West Coast Games. Players from this team were selected from standout performances at their High School Scout Days and Open Scout Days, as well as the Underclass and Upperclass Top Prospect Games. The Team Nevada prospects were able to showcase their "stuff" in front of the hundreds of collegiate scouts in attendance at each of the national event with helping the 15 prospects currently committed with many more expected to come in the next couple months.
We begin our #TeamNevada Commitment Tracker feature with 2025, Ethan Clauss, who committed to Texas A&M shortly after the conclusion of the 2021 Junior Future Games.
Ethan Clauss - Palo Verde | LVR | Texas A&M
+ 2021 Jr. Future Games Report - "Clauss had come into the Jr. Future Games as one of the projected top incoming freshman in Nevada and he solidified that projection after the weekend he posted on both sides of the ball. Offensively, his presence at the play and advanced eye for the zone helped him to lead the team in walks and a .444 on-base percentage with a number of quality at-bats throughout his 18 plate appearances. Defensively, he shined at each infield spot during the infield rotation, posting 0 errors while making high level play after high level play that proved critical in the outcome of almost each game. His improved footwork and fluidity through the ball will only continue to improve has his foot speed continues to improved over the coming years with self positioning and IQ already well beyond his years. Clauss is a player that will be on many radars over the next few years and I would not be surprised if he is one of the first 2025's off the board."
The lone commit from Team Nevada at the 2021 Jr. Future Games, Clauss had shown his advanced actions throughout his game that paralleled his physical development over the past year. We feel the future Aggie is only now scratching the surface of what he will be as a player and the next couple of years will be critical in his progression not only on the field, but in the weight room as well where he will continue to add strength and size. A product of the Las Vegas Recruits program, Clauss is primed to make an early impact at Palo Verde, projecting to be a middle of the order bat with the athleticism to hold down any spot in the infield.
