CSN vs. Salt Lake, Game 2: Scout Blog

At 6-foot-4, 225 pound, Kris Bow is an imposing physical presence when he takes the rubber and he’s got the velocity and repertoire of pitches to validate it. Coming in as the #2 ranked Junior College prospect in the country, he’s got high level stuff that includes a fastball up to 95 mph, cruising between 93 and 95 at 2400 rpms, working down in the zone. His slider is currently a plus pitch at 80-81 mph, that works well off his fastball at a spin rate of 2900 RPM via TrackMan. After the first inning, he began working in his changeup at 84-85 mph with some sink and fade, but was able to locate well. His misses were mostly all down in the zone or just off. He is half of the two headed monster that makes up the top of the CSN rotation along with PBR JUCO Preseason Pitcher of the Year, Josh Swales.

Fastball: 92-95 mph, live and working down in the zone
Slider: 80-81 mph, late, sharp action
Changeup: 84-85, arm side action and some sink
