The Prep Baseball Future Games showcased an exceptional group of young prospects from the 2026 and 2027 classes in the state of Nevada, all of whom are uncommitted going into the event, leading to the August 1st contact period. Held annually, the Future Games is Prep Baseball's premier event, bringing together the top uncommitted prospects in the sophomore class heading into their junior year. This year, the event saw an unprecedented attendance of 425 college coaches, solidifying its status as the nation's leading uncommitted showcase.

This year's Future Games featured the deepest pitching staff ever taken from the Silver State and today, we highlight the standout 2027 position players that made an immediate impression at the 2024 Future Games.

2024 Future Games: 2027 Position Players

Karsen Smaka OF / RHP / Palo Verde, NV / 2027

Coming off his breakout Spring campaign, Smaka has quickly ascended to being one of the Nevada’s top 2027 prospects with the premium athleticism to amplify each part of his game. After producing a standout performance during the Day 1 Workout, where he found his name near the top of almost every statistical category that applied to him, producing Team Nevada’s top 60 Time at 6.70, Top 5 in TrackMan Exit Velocity at 97.3 mph and Top 3 Average Exit Velocity at 91.3 mph. The present tools are there and we expect them to only progress over the next few years as he continues to add strength and size to his developing frame. This time next year, Smaka will be a player that we expect will be getting significant attention.

Dillon Lee 2B / SS / Basic Academy of Int'l Studies HS, NV / 2027

The younger brother of 2026 standout, Lyndon Lee, Dillon has already made a name for himself with the same “gamer” type style of play, but a physically bigger frame could allow for the potential power to play a bigger role in his game. Already an advanced defender, you can see the actions throuhgout his game that make him an intriguing prospect that is still scratching the surface of what we project him to be. This is a player to keep tabs on this upcoming Spring where he is expected to have his breakout sophomore campaign.

Matthew Smoot 3B / SS / Coronado HS, NV / 2027

At 6’3/190 and growing, the switch hitting middle infielder proved that he is right there with not only the top players in Nevada’s 2027 class, but some of the top players in the country. The tools and actions are both present in his game with his breakout Spring projected to take place during his upcoming sophomore campaign at Coronado. Smoot is a high IQ player with a high ceiling and present feel for the game that we expect to continue making significant jumps over the next year.

Adrian Ramos OF / LHP / Basic, NV / 2027

The two-way came off an impressive freshman campaign and continued to show off his clean actions at the 2024 Future Games. Ramos is not a player who will put up massive numbers during the workout portion of the event, but is a play who won’t get cheated in an at-bat and knows how to compete on the mound. Still having some youthfulness in his build, this is a high projection player that we expect his game to mirror his physical development and strength gains.

Dallon Cegavske OF / 1B / Basic Academy of Int'l Studies, NV / 2027

After his standout performance at the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games, Cegavske has continued to prove himself as one of the top bats in Nevada’s 2027 Class with advanced feel for the barrel and an obvious confidence at the plate. After impressing with a line drive filled batting practice session during the Day 1 Workout, Cegavske produce a number of quality at-bats throughout the 2024 Future Games. His overall game is just now taking shape with much more expected to come as he continues to add size and strength to his 6-foot-0, 168 pound frame.
