2021 C/1B Gavin Mez, ranked #11 overall, is a left handed bat who proved himself capable of playing among the best this past summer with the elite CBA Marucci American group. A standout at the Gorman Scout Day, he put on one of the best rounds of batting practice at the event, driving ball from gap to gap with flashes of power to the pull side and then showcased his improved receiving skills throughout his bullpen sessions receiving some of the top arms on the Gorman's pitching staff. Mez already looks to be in mid-season shape after going three for four in the Gaels scrimmage against Centennial where he showed easy confidence at the plate spraying the ball the other way last weekend. With preseason baseball coming to a close and High School season ramping up, this prospect should not be on the market much longer with interest quickly growing from schools throughout the West Coast.
