Two NJ 2021s Represented in Latest Overall Update

The newest Updated 2021 Rankings have been released, expanding the overall number to 75 freshmen from around the country. Two talented players from New Jersey, OF Mike Bello (Pope John XXIII HS, NJ) and SS Chris Markovich (North Hunterdon HS, NJ) lead the way for the Garden State.

The Updated List provides recruiters an early look at some of the younger talent across the country, and is especially important because Division I schools are prohibited from recruiting until March 1st.

Scouting Report

Underclass Games (September 24th, 2017)
Bello has a broad shouldered build at 6-foot-2 185-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.10-seconds and recorded an exit velocity of 86 MPH. At the plate – Bello starts in a tall, slightly opened stance with hands in line with back shoulder and some rhythm in wrists prepitch. Uses a small foot stride to start swing. Short, quick and explosive hands to the ball with an uphill finish on his back leg. One of the top overall prospects from the event. Defensively – throws topped at 78 MPH from right field. Short, quick arm action – high-3/4 slot with backspin on throws. Able to play through his throws with momentum. One of the top 2021s in the state right now – high level prospect with a lot to like.







Scouting Report

Underclass Games (September 24th, 2017)
Markovich has a lean, athletic build at 5-foot-10 175-pounds with broad shoulders and advanced quick-twitch attributes as just a freshman. He ran the 60 yard dash in 6.98-seconds and recorded an exit velocity of 88 MPH. At the plate – Markovich starts with a slightly opened stance and hands just below back shoulder. As pitch comes in, hands load up and back with fluidity and uses a leg kick to start swing. Smooth, effortless hips and hands through the zone. Shows elasticity in upper body on finish; creates torque to produce power. Uphill swing, remains balanced throughout. Defensively – throws recorded from SS topped at 76 MPH across the infield with carry and backspin. Smooth, easy hands and footwork, able to play through throws with momentum. Quick, easy hand exchange, able to throw from multiple slots. One of the top prospects in the 2021 class.
