Season Preview: Ocean City

The 2023 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across New Jersey.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons at Veteran's Field at the NJSIAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview the top teams across NJ.

TEAM OUTLOOK
Ocean City has 8 returning starters from a team that went to the South Jersey Finals in 2022 and they will be put to the test in a gauntlet of a conference with back-to-back games against Egg Harbor Township, Mainland, St. Augustine Prep, Millville, Vineland, and Hammonton. A pair of Maryland recruits in 2023 RHP Duke McCarron and 2025 RHP Evan Taylor will lead the pitching staff. Some younger arms are ready to step in and fill a role including Matt Pashley, Travis Large, and freshman Kam Street. Dante Edwardi, an FDU commit, will eat innings on the mound and provide some depth at the plate. McCarron and Taylor will be relied upon to spark the offense, too.
