PBR was at West Iredell HS on Saturday November 7th for an open prospect identification.  At the same time, a PBR Scout Day was run as well.  During the event, position players ran through a full pro-style workout including a laser timed 60.  During the offensive portion of the event, Blast Motion and TrackMan were used to track pre-contact swing metrics and post-contact ball flight.  At the conclusion of the pro-style workout, pitchers threw a controlled bullpen with TrackMan again, following ball flight out of the hand.

Luke Davis (RHP, South Iredell HS, 2022) – Lean, athletic frame.  Stretch only.  Stable over the rubber.  Plunges out of the glove working to an over-the-top slot.  Fastball up to 83.  Solid induced vertical break, showing ride through the zone.  Short, 11/5 tilt to a breaking ball up to 72.

Landon Johnson (RHP, West Stokes HS, 2023) – Broad shoulders.  Athletic frame.  Stands 6-foot-7, 200 pounds.  Long arm swing.  Elbow climbs above the shoulder line as he works to an over-the-top slot.  Above average arm speed.  Fastball peaked at 81 with a max spin rate of 1637.  11 inches of induced vertical break suggest an ability to create ground balls.  Solid angle to the fastball when down zone.  Hard, late breaking ball.  Erratic at times.  High ceiling with plenty of room to it right now.

Luis Rivera (RHP, Parmaus Catholic (NJ), 2022) – Athletic 5-foot-9, 155 pounds.  Simple delivery.  Repeats.  Short arm action to an over-the-top slot.  Above average arm speed.  Strike thrower.  Fastball at 85, spinning at 1900 rpm average.  Depth to the breaking ball with over 14 inches of horizontal break.  Thrown with arm speed and intent.

Joseph Ruller (LHP, Charlotte Catholic, 2022) – Athletic frame, standing 6-foot, with length in the limbs.  Average arm speed.  Fastball at 79-80.  Solid ride out of the hand.  Secondary stuff is still developing.  As frame adds strength, we will watch where the stuff grows to.

James Salicco (RHP, Cuthbertson, 2023) – Lean, 6-foot-3, 165 pounds.  Plenty of room to add strength to an athletic frame.  Long, athletic arm swing to a high-3/4 slot.  Above average arm speed.  Head tilt out of balance, clearing the window for the release.  Fastball up to 83.  Slider is a difference maker, slotting with the fastball before darting away from RHH, hard and late with a max spin rate of 2525rpm.  Slider has out pitch potential.

Alex Steckler (RHP, Olympic HS, 2022) – Athleticism present in a 5-foot-11, 168 pound frame.  Long, athletic arm swing to an over-the-top slot.  Good direction and better than average arm speed.   Fastball up to 87 with an average spin rate of 2310rpm.  Good ride out of the hand with 21.2 inches of induced vertical break.  Breaking ball was hard and late with depth, spinning up to 2458 rpm.
