9/20/15 -- Helmstetter is a 5-foot-10, 140 pound LHP/ OF. He hits from the left side with a toe tap into stride. He has a clean and easy swing and solid hand speed. He shows some jump off his bat and hits balls well to all fields. On the mound, he pitches with steady tempo and repeatability. He does land slightly across his body but commands the ball to his glove side well enough for it not to be a concern. His arm action is smooth and quick, slightly above 3/4 arm slot. His fastball had some arm side run and his velocity topped at 79 miles-per-hour. His breaking ball was slurve in action and had depth potential when he gets on top of the baseball. Solid two-pitch mix; I anticipate the integration of a changeup, which he should have no problem throwing with his feel for pitching.
