Position: RHP
Commitment: -
Rich Racobaldo is a 6-foot-2, 170 pound RHP from Washington Twp and Rawlings Prospect NJ, one of the up-and-coming programs in South Jersey. The right-hander had an excellent spring and has grown immensely as a pitcher this summer leading him to garner a ton of attention from many high-level division one programs.
Racobaldo features a high-80s fastball (tops 91 miles-per-hour) with late life, and a potentially plus changeup. His breaking ball is a work in progress but has flashes of being a good pitch. He pitches with explosiveness and a loose, easy arm action that projects for more. The current "stuff" with the high ceiling has made him the 8th ranked 2017 prospect in the state (#5 RHP).
The 2017 RHP took time out of his busy summer schedule to answer some questions about his recruitment.
PBR: Could you give us a brief history of your baseball background?
RR: I’ve played baseball my entire life, really. I got a lot of help from my dad and uncle in terms of learning how to pitch. My uncle was drafted by the Dodgers and had success in the minors and my Grandpop (Dad’s side) also got drafted. He went to the University of Houston for basketball instead.
PBR: What summer team will you be playing for in the summer?
RR: Rawlings Prospects NJ
