With the summer over and school in session, baseball has become limited the weekends. Living near USA Baseball’s National Training Complex in Cary, NC, means I never go very long without some kind of baseball being available to me. I spent Sunday at the complex catching a couple of Evoshield Canes games. The roster understandably wasn’t as loaded as it was this summer, but there were still a few highlights worth sharing…
+ RHP Gianluca Dalatri (Christian Brothers Academy, NJ) made the trek south from New Jersey and started the Canes’ final game of the weekend. He struck out five in three shutout innings and allowed just one baserunner on an error. Like he always does, Dalatri threw strikes. He sat 87-89 mph with his fastball and his curveball had more rolling action in this outing, sitting 72-73.
