Game 3 Recap: NJ tops NY 4-3 in Final Game

In the final game of the 2019 PBR Future Games, New Jersey beat New York 4-3.
The scoring got going in the 4th inning for Team NJ, when 2021 INF Matt Miceli led off the inning getting hit by a pitch and then stole 2B. 2021 C Tyler LeRoy (Delran HS, NJ) line a single to score Miceli for the game's first run. 2022 INF Caden Dana (Don Bosco Prep HS, NJ) then scorched a line drive single that the right fielder missplayed, eventually scoring LeRoy from first base. 2022 SS Maximus Martin (Moorestown HS, NJ) then flied out to CF, scoring Dana from third base.
In the 7th, LeRoy led off with a walk and with two outs, 2022 INF Christopher Maldonado (Seton Hall Prep HS, NJ) mashed a double to RCF, scoring LeRoy.
The pitchers were led by starter 2021 RHP Justin Szestowicki (Kingsway HS, NJ), who spun two scoreless, while striking out two. The right hander possessed a fastball that sat consistently at 90-91 during his second appearance at the Future Games. Spun an 11/5 CB with some late bite and a changeup for strikes, too. Szestowicki was up to 92 several times in one inning of action in Game 1.
2021 RHP Eric Schroeder (Delbarton HS, NJ) continued to impress on the mound - and is one of the high risers coming out of this event. He maintained his fastball at 85-86 with command of two different breaking balls - both for swings and misses. He punched out two more in one inning - capping off a dominant 3 IP, and 6 K performance at the Future Games.
2022 RHP Tom Finnegan (Ocean City HS, NJ) bounced back on back to back days for a scoreless frame, sat 85-87 with late life on his fastball, and spun an 11/5 breaking ball for strikes as well. Lanky, 6-foot-7 frame with room to fill out.
2021 RHP Chase Petty (Mainland HS, NJ) was electric in his second appearance of the Future Games - allowing a hit and striking out 1. he was 91-93 with a wipeout slider at 80-82.
2021 RHP David Hagaman (Cedar Creek HS, NJ) turned in a scoreless frame in his second appearance, striking out two. The 6-foot-4 right-hander was 85-87 touching 88 multiple times.
2021 RHP Ryan Rumsey (Paul VI HS, NJ) saw his velocity jump up to 89 multiple times in his second appearance in two days, and flashed a sharp changeup with heavy armside bite.
2022 RHP Caden Dana (Don Bosco Prep HS, NJ) closed out the game for Team NJ in the top of 8th. Sat 84-86 and flashed an 11/5 breaking ball for strikes at 72-74.
