Scouting Report
Martin may have been the event's best hitter in terms of performance at the Border Battle. Offensively- He went 3-for-5 with a no-doubter homerun, 3 RBIs, 2 runs, and a walk. What may have been most impressive performance-wise was that he drove a line drive to LF in the at-bat after the homerun. He has a smooth stroke and above average feel for the barrel. His plate presence is excellent and his feel for the strike zone is well advanced for a 2017 graduate. He had an 87 MPH exit velocity. Defensively- His jumps in CF are some of the best I've seen in his class. He really put it on display when he tracked down a ball deep into the LCF gap for a back hand grab.
