Big First Inning Propels Millburn Over West Essex
April 5, 2019
Millburn defeated West Essex 8-1 yesterday on the back after a big first inning. 2020 C Ben Sinnis led off the game with a line drive single and then five straight walks helped pad the Millers' early lead.
Millburn would score again - twice - in the 4th inning. With one out, Evan Molka tripled and Sinnis walked. 2021 OF Oren Abbott (Duke recruit) then launched a triple to deep RCF, allowing Molka and Sinnis to score easily. Uncommitted INF Ben Chrzanowski drove Abbott in on the next pitch, a line drive single through the left side.

That was all the scoring that starter 2020 RHP Peter Landreman needed. The tall, lanky right hander tossed six scoreless frames, punching out three and scattering six hits. He was primarily 77-79 touching 80 on a windy afternoon in North Caldwell - he wrinkled in a 70-72 MPH curveball with small 10/4 shape.
