The Year In Review - 2023
Each of us here at PBR New England want to thank you for making 2023 the best year yet. We look forward to continuing to bring the best baseball coverage to the Buckeye State. Happy Holidays to all!
"Seems like old hat for PBR as we move forward into 2024. The brand continues to grow immensely, gaining momentum nationally. As for New England, we are very appreciative of all the high school coaches, AAU coaches, and all involved with the development and support of PBR. I would be remiss if I didn't thank all the workers, off site team and Chris Valentine. I continue to look forward to a new year, the players we get a chance to interact with in New England are first class. The parental support and involvement has been super. The talent and dedication to the sport of baseball continues to grow in our region, and that, in itself, is a great sign." - Dennis Healy, PBR New England Co-Director of Scouting
"Another successful year for PBR New England. The Future Games for both teams (Massachusetts and Connecitcut) have had multiple players commit. The continued technology that we use at our events is continuing to put us above our competition. Looking forward to 2024 and beyond." - Trevor Brown, PBR New England Co-Director of Scouting
"2023 was another banner year for PBR New England and myself. From the relationships we've made and the experiences I had personally throughout these past 12 months, 2023 was a year to remember. Being able to help high school athletes reach their dreams of playing at the next level while building personal relationships is something I enjoy daily. The showcase season is great and I love everything about it, but as most who know me understand, I love the high school and summer seasons and I'd like to thank all who made those two seasons the best we could make them. Thanks to the interns that helped a bunch during the year, as well as all of our full time guys, each have brought something to PBR New England that has made it what it is now. Have a great holiday season!"- Dylan Hefflinger, PBR New England Editor in Chief/Scout
"Another enjoyable year of story writing is in the books. Hearing the baseball journeys from so many brings me delight as each player’s dream of playing the sport for as long as possible stays alive. It is a delight to see these athletes in action, be it during the regular season, on the postseason trail to the state tournament or at the Future Games. To witness the passion displayed on the ball diamond keeps this old man excited to come back for more year after year. Add in the opportunity to listen to what all the great coaches out there have to say and it is no wonder why the sport of baseball is so special to so many people." - Bruce Hefflinger, PBR New England Senior Writer
"2023 was another great year! Our staff provided maximum exposure for prospects by executing high level showcases and tournaments across the state. We grew closer as a staff and navigated new challenges as they arose. I'm very appreciative of the coaches, organizations and players for trusting in our brand. I'm excited for what is to come in 2024 and look forward to continuing to make a positive difference in the recruiting process for amatuer baseball players." - Luke Wolford, PBR New England Vice President of Operations and Multimedia
"2023 was an awesome year for Prep Baseball New England. I'm extremely fortunate to be able to work with such a great team who are constantly looking to improve upon what we are currently doing while also proactively looking for new ways to continue providing the best amateur scouting platform in the area. It's an exciting time to be involved with Prep Baseball New England as we introduce an updated brand identity & logo while still providing the same unparalleled boots-on-the-ground coverage for High School baseball players across the entire state." - Alex Stefanelli, Director of Social Media
"In my third year with the company and first in my new role, 2023 was the best year yet. Beginning with the MLB Draft, multiple High School and College players from the region were selected in the early rounds, including Matt Shaw, MA -- University of Maryland (Round 1, Pick 13 by Chicago Cubs), Thomas White, MA -- Phillips Academy - Andover (Round CB-A, Pick 35 by Miami Marlins), and Alex Clemmey, RI -- Bishop Hendricken High School (Round 2, Pick 58 by Cleveland Guardians). This group of players participated in events like the New England Procase, Future Games, Junior Future Games, Top Prospect Games, Preseason IDs, Team Scout Days, and more. In 2023, another group of high-level players participated in these types of events and a large group of them committed to play in college, with many of them committing to high-end D1 programs, and many others on track to do very similar. Thank you to the players, families, teams, and organizations for choosing Prep Baseball New England and participating in our events and tournaments. I am looking forward to next year and getting eyes on more of the top amateur baseball talent in the New England region." - Brendan Ebert, New England Assistant Director of Scouting
