Teagan Beames RHP / SS / New Fairfield High School, CT / 2025

NEW FAIRFIELD, Ct. - A commitment to Quinnipiac is just the start for Teagan Beames.

“I’m still going to go to the gym and continue to get stronger,” the New Fairfield senior pointed out. “I’m going to work on my mechanics and my breaking stuff. I’m not going to take a day off of baseball or school. That’s who I am. I’m looking to grow as a person and as a player.”

The 17th-rated 2025 right-handed pitcher in New England has done his share of growth since entering freshman year of high school at 5-11 and 150 pounds.

“I’ve been going to the gym every day,” explained Beames, now a 6-4 200-pounder. “I’ve improved my mechanics, my health, most everything. Being my size has been a dream. It’s definitely helped me out.”

Quinnipiac witnessed the seventh-ranked senior RHP in Connecticut during high school as well as summer ball.

“Every time I pitched I saw them there,” Beames related. “The amount of interest they showed was big in my decision.”

A visit to the university in early August made an impression on the 17-year-old.

“The school was amazing, the atmosphere and the campus,” Beames noted. “The baseball stadium was incredible and they have great academic support.”

An offer came in mid-August and a commitment followed a week later.

“Quinnipiac just felt like home,” said Beames, who was also considering George Washington.

The 15th-ranked 2025 in Connecticut showed a lot of promise in the eyes of the coaches at Quinnipiac.

“They like my frame and how well they think I could develop,” Beames explained. “They gave me a plan on how they saw my future in the program and I really like the plan they have for me.”

A commitment ended a difficult recruiting process according to Beames.

“Early on my recruitment was very slow,” Beames reflected. “I got some looks from the Future Games, but nothing too big. I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go. But later in the process, when I switched to Baseball U CT and all their connections, that really helped me out. Prep Baseball and all the events, videos and metrics also helped, allowing me to show my growth. Without Prep Baseball I’m not sure I’d be able to do this.”

Beames credited Trevor Brown, Prep Baseball New England Director of Scouting, with benefitting the cause.

“When he brought me to the Future Games that was a huge boost in confidence,” Beames admitted. “It showed me that I belonged in the college baseball world.”

His interest only increased.

“Junior year I realized I could play baseball at a high level in college and started researching schools,” Beames said. “I think I made the right decision.”

The 32nd-rated senior in New England is primed to be an asset to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference program in Hamden, Ct., located 90 minutes from home.

“I’m someone who’s going to compete on and off the field and in the classroom,” Beames said. “I’m super excited for this opportunity and ready to compete in college baseball.”

Accounting, finance and marketing are potential majors for Beames, who carried a 3.7 GPA his junior year of high school.

“My family is so happy that I’ll be close to home so they’ll be able to watch me,” Beames said. “We really like the coaches there and I’m looking forward to spending as much time as I can with my teammates. I can’t wait to meet them and get after it from day one. Being part of college baseball is going to be amazing.”
