New England Insider: Uncommitted Senior Spotlight - Joseph Nemchek, LHP/OF

Name: Joseph Nemchek
Position: LHP/OF
Height/Weight: 6-foot, 158 pounds
School: Trumbull HS

Scouting Report: Nemchek is a 6-foot, 158 pound left-hander with a slender frame. He hit at the event, showing an 81 mile-per-hour exit velocity off of the tee. He has a short stroke with an abbreviated finish; he had a well-hit triple to the right-center field gap in the game portion of the event. His future at the next level is on the mound. He pitches with solid overhead rhythm and a ¾ arm slot. When online, he delivers the ball with low effort into the bottom 1/3 of the strike zone. He does pull off to his glove side which impacts his fastball command. The left-hander’s fastball sat 81-85 MPH and was largely straight. He showed just scattered command of his fastball, pulling off to his glove side. His best offering in this outing was his curveball which he spun between 69 and 71 MPH with tight spin and good, late depth. His changeup was 75-76 with fastball arm speed.
