We would like to thank all who participated in The PBR New England 2021 Scout Day: CT Gamecocks. This was a great opportunity for 2022-2025 prospects to be put on college recruiting boards. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. 2021 Scout Day: CT Gamecocks - Quick Hits
The Players
- Ray Campbell, 2022, RHH/C, big physical athletic frame. Showed plus bat speed at 95 mph. Swing is powerful, driving the baseball from gap to gap. An above average arm from behind the plate at 77 mph.
- Matthew McDowell, 2025, LHH/RHP, at the plate, swing is super smooth, line drives to the gaps. Exit velocity was up to 88 mph. Off the mound, pounded the zone with a heavy two-pitch mix, fastball up to 79 mph, with a 66 mph slurve.
- Devin Fuegan, 2022, LHH/1B, monster left-handed hitter, level to up path. The baseball explodes off the bat. The exit was up to 93 mph, with more in there as he smooths out the swing. Showed feel at 1st base.
- Colby Ruggerio, 2025, RHH/INF, showed good hands at the plate, hard contact, line drives all over the place. The glove was soft, with a 73 mph arm across the diamond.
- Joseph Stasik IV, 2022, RHH/OF, is athletic, runs and throws, athletic frame, a player to watch.
- Bryan Capezzone, 2022, RHH/OF, swung the bat well, up to 90 mph with exit, more of a pull approach.
- Matthew Deegan, 2022, RHH/3B, shows feel at third, good arm at 77 mph. The hands really work at the plate, open to even stance. Good bat speed at 90 mph.
- Tyler Lato, 2022, RHH/OF, a right-handed hitter, sits and hits, all fields, lower half can calm down a bit, shows good hands and strength to it.
- Gavin Pepe, 2025, RHH/C, athletic frame, hands work at the plate, feel for catching.
- Maddox Leite, 2025, LHH/LHP, smooth left-handed swing, middle to pull sides, hands work with ease. Mixed a two-pitch mix off the mound.
