PBR: Why did you choose Nebraska?
Perry: I've wanted to live every Nebraska kid's dream of playing baseball as a cornhusker.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
Perry: Coach Erstad first saw me this summer during the state tournament at Skutt and ever since then I've been in contact with Coach Silva and the coaching staff.
Perry: Well, I never felt the pressure of the recruitment process I just wanted to go out there and do my thing and the rest will come so now I'm just focused on the ultimate goal, to go out there and compete for a state championship.
Perry: The facilities Nebraska has to offer are unbelievable and the coaching staff is phenomenal so those were 2 of the biggest reasons for me to choose Nebraska.
PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
Perry: I can't chose one specific person that has helped me but definitely being doubted as a player and the adversity that has come with being an athlete has driven me to be a better person and player.
Perry: My expectations of the recruiting process were that it was going to be intimidating, but it turned out to be a very exciting and a very simple process.
PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
Perry: They are hoping I will be ready to compete at the Big 10 level by the time I'm a freshman and that is my expectation for myself as well.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
Perry: I had quite a few memorable baseball moments this year, but the more memorable moment had to have been getting called up from JV in the spring and throwing a no-no in my 2nd Varsity outing. It was a very personal moment for myself and my family.
PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
Perry: Usually you'd expect someone to say a Cole Stobbe or Logan Foster, but I'd have to say Brandon Bena. The guy straight up rakes and anything I threw in the area code he would hit it and hit it hard.
