PBR: Why did you choose Missouri Western?

I chose MWSU because I felt like it was a perfect fit for me. St. Joseph is the right size, the campus is the right size. And of course Coach Verduzco and McFadden are fantastic people who I really could see myself playing for.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

I was looking into Kearney, Northwest Missouri, and Wayne State as well. MWSU was first on my list to get in contact with and fortunately it couldn’t have worked out any better.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?

I was able to go down and throw for Coach Verduzco and McFadden in early November. I felt like they both were great coaches and people and I could learn from them both on and off the field from them.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

I’ve said a lot about the staff but that really was the most impressive part of the Griffon Baseball program to me. Of course their great facilities and campus were deciding factors but my time with Coach Verduzco and McFadden had me knowing I wanted to play for them by the time I left the campus.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Honestly not one person stands out to as who helped me the most. From early on with throwing with my Dad in the yard to the Pacesetters select team with Coach Hosey, Olsen, McDermott, Mallott, Manganaro, and more teaching me to compete at a young age through Elkhorn South with Coach Dahl helping to work with my pitching game. I have been able to take a little from everyone.

PBR: Going into your senior season this spring, what are your expectations for your team?

My expectations are for us to compete. We here at South are entering our first year in Class A springball. Doesn’t phase me because we have been competing with these guys since we were 9. We are ready to make some noise with the big names.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

My freshman season at MWSU will be determined by how I do in fall ball down in St. Jo. Coach McFadden says there will be ample opportunity to show my worth, I plan to show him that.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

My most memorable baseball moment would be when I got the call to play select ball the 8 year old Omaha Pacesetters. At the time I wanted nothing more and it was the beginning of something special for me.

PBR: Who is the best player you have competed against?

The best player I have competed against was Cole Stobbe bar none. I’m proud to say I struck him out on a curveball my sophomore year, he came back next at bat and took a changeup 400 feet. Wish him nothing but the best.
