PBR Nebraska Player of the Year - Cade Barton

Prep Baseball Report is excited for the return of Player of the Year Awards, presented by Big League Chew, after the 2020 season was cut short and 2021 generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout Iowa. As the summer high school season progresses through the summer, Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state. This player has been selected not only for their outstanding statistical numbers, but also for their overall effect on their high school program.

CADE BARTON - Skutt Catholic High School

Winners win and that's all Barton did on the mound during the 2021 season. The Emporia State signee, Barton went 9-0 with a .30 ERA in 46 IP. He stuck out 75 while only allowing 14 BBs while leading his team deep into the Class B state tournament. 

Cade Barton's all-around performance, as well as the impact he has had on Skutt Catholic High School, has earned him the 2021 Prep Baseball Report Nebraska Player of the Year honors.

Barton has been selected by the staff of Prep Baseball Report of Nebraska. The team of PBR area scouts who covered the high school baseball season throughout the spring selected Barton amongst a strong group of candidates including Millard South's Nate Moquin, Central City's Kale Jensen, and Ralston's Nolan Sailors.
