PBR: Why did you choose Fort Scott CC?
I chose Fort Scott because of Coach Hill’s history of sending players to legit D1 programs. I also love that he pushes all his players to be the best person, student and player possible everyday.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
I was talking with Wichita State, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa Western, Hutch and SCC. Those schools said they’ll continue to follow me at Fort Scott.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
About a month ago Coach Hill came to watch me play with the Prospects in Joplin. He approached me after my first game and offered me later that night. I took my visit to Fort Scott two weeks later.
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
My visit to Fort Scott was amazing. When I left I knew Coach Hill would have me ready to play D1 ball at a high level.
PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
The Prospects have helped me so much and it wouldn’t be possible without them. My parents have also supported me throughout this process.
PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
Coach Hill keeps his roster small so everyone has a shot at playing right away. He said I’ll likely play MIF but could just as easily play CF.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
My most memorable baseball moment is when we won the championship game of a tournament where I was the winning pitcher and also hit for the cycle.
PBR: Who is the best player you have competed against?
The best player I’ve competed against is Cole Payton. I’ve played many sports with him since we were young. He’s an amazing athlete and person. No one outworks him.
