West Johnston Big in Quad County 3A Matchup

On the strength of an impressive outing by 2025 LHP Kolby Jarman, the West Johnston Wildcats beat the CB Aycock Golden Falcons 9-0 Thursday night to solidify their place atop the Quad County 3-A Conference. 

Jarman was masterful on the mound only allowing 2 hits and 4 walks while fanning 11 Falcons over 6 innings. Senior Brodie Sorrell led the Wildcats offensive onslaught scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. West Johnston plated 2 in the 1st, 3 in the 3rd and put the game away with 4 in the 4th. 

The Wildcats move to 10-0 in the conference and 14-3 overall. Aycock is now 12-4 overall and 7-2 in conference play.

6'4 200lbs.  Tall Strong Frame.  High-¾ slot. Strong arm that carried velocity into the later innings. Smooth and efficient on the mound, pounded the bottom of the zone.  Fastball at 88-89 early, ranging 84-89 over the six innings of work. Kept hitters off balance with a solid mix. Projection still available. Breaking ball at 73-74. 

Johnathan Winters, RHP, CB Aycock HS 2025

Short athletic frame. Quick arm with a compact delivery. Fastball has glove side run, ranging 84-85. Breaking ball has depth at 72-73. 

Dean Cappelletti, LHP, West Johnston HS, 2026 

6'3 178lbs. Tall Athletic frame. Balanced approach in the box. Slightly high hands. Uses a toe tap to load. Gets on plane quickly. Strength through contact. Gap power present.
