Summer Scout Days: Top Outfield Arms

Today in our Summer scout day series we highlight 3 uncommitted OF prospects who show off top level arm strength from the outfield. Each of these 3 players have OF velo's into the upper 80's or low 90's. Lets take a deeper look into what makes these 3 players some of the top performers from our scout day events from the entire summer. 




Scouting Report

6'2" - 170lb athletic frame, 6.89 sec 60 yard dash runner, 87 mph outfield arm, and a top exit velocity of 95.6 mph from the right side. Twitchy athlete with hand speed up to 25.4 mph, body has room to fill out and increase power numbers as he grows.

6'3" - 175lb lanky frame, 93 mph bolt from the outfield, 95.5 mph exit velo from the right side, 84.1 mph top fastball from the mound, pitchers frame with room to fill out and add power with maturity.

Positional Profile: OF/LHP.
Body: 5-8, 130 pounds. Thin frame, room for maturation ahead. 

Defense: Plays through the ball, uses a two-hand catch, catches the ball right of center, clean exchanges.
Arm: L. OF - 68 mph. Long arm action, high 3/4 slot, some accuracy.

Hit: R. Even base, feet outside shoulder width, tucked elbows, hands at back shoulder. Small hand load back, short stride. . Balanced, some quickness to his hands. slight lift to the barrel path, works gap to gap in BP.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity.  Average bat speed, numbers should increase with added strength.
Run:7.5 runner in the 60.
