During the summer of 2024, the North Carolina Scouting Staff for Prep Baseball ran several Team Carolina Trails plus the NC/SC Border Battle and the Top Prospect Games.  These events give a platform for players to update their stats, analytics, and video on the Prep Baseball platform.  Events like the Top Prospect Games and the Border Battle allow players to perform in game action as well, often drawing a contingent of college coaches and scouts as they get to see a full day from every player.  With over 1 million player profile views per month on Prep Baseball, players attending their events can begin to introduce, and update, themselves to college coaches and pro scouts.  Prep Baseball events allow for trusted and verified stats so players know where they stand, and they can track their progress over their high school career.

Players attending Team Carolina Trials are eligible to be selected to higher tier events like the NC/SC Border Battle or Top Prospect Games. Several players from the Trials, Border Battle, and Top Prospect Games were selected for National events, the Prep Baseball Future Games and the Super Sophomore Games.  To see a full list of completed events in 2024, with rosters, news, and player stats, click HERE.

Prep Baseball scouts will continue to highlight these players throughout the fall season.  Below are the some of the top defensive performers from their workouts at the Team NC events.

Summer Review: Team NC BLAST SWING Metrics

During Team NC events, Prep Baseball Scouts armed each hitter's bat with BLAST sensors.  The sensors relayed analytics on each swing with pre-contact metrics. Scouts are looking for bat speed, bat path, contact rates, and working to separate why some hitters have success and others may struggle. The BLAST metrics give advanced analytics to those working to grade hitters.  The metrics also allow hitters to understand their strengths and weaknesses.  While each analytic is a good data point, to understand each hitter, coaches, scouts, and players need to understand how the numbers work together.
