Prep Baseball of North Carolina opened the 2024 event season with two Preseason IDs. On Sunday January 28th, On Deck Baseball Academy hosted Prep Baseball for the indoor event. A high level facility, players were able to go through athletic testing, positional evaluations, as well as pitching and BP evaluations.  Prep Baseball scouts were on hand to run the event verify stats, and evaluate the players involved.

On Deck Baseball Academy offered plenty of room for players to stretch their arms while getting a good workout indoors.  Players had room to run a laser timed 30, while catchers, infielders, and outfielders were able to stretch their arms in their evaluation phase.  Pitchers threw off of indoor mounds on a day that saw rain pummel the Carolinas.

In all, twenty players took part in the event.  Below we take a data dive into the results of the workout.

+ 4 catchers saw pop times below 2.10
+ 3 infielder or outfielder arms were at 84 or higher from their position

2026 Arms

Edward Russell Carter IV, RHP, US Performance Academy HS

+3 pitch mix of Fastball, Curveball, and Change-up. Fastball tops at 72.2mph with good downward action. 

Dylan Foltz, RHP, Community School of Davidson HS

+One of the better fastballs at the event but can still at on with his 6-foot-2, 160lb frame. Fastball gets to 83.2mph now and has elite spin on the Curveball at 2402rpm avg spin rate. 

Morgan Jones, RHP, Weddington HS

+Short arm action and a good 3 pitch mix. Fastball up to 80.8mph, 12-6 curveball, and a sinking change-up. 

Liam Parsons, RHP, Eash Mecklenburg HS

+Filled up the zone with all 3 pitches, up to 83.2mph. Change-up and Curveball both have good late action down in the zone. 

Luke Snell, RHP, South Iredell HS

+Top Fastball of the event at 85.8mph along with a good pitchers frame at 6-foot-2, 175lbs. Everything moves and has late action. Change-up and Slider are both quality pitches. 

2025 Arms

Dylan Veverka, RHP, Ardrey Kell HS

+Slider and Fastball are two best pitches as of right now. Fastball reaches 83.7mph and has great spin on the slider at 2456rpms.
