Throughout the 2024 season Prep Baseball Scouts will be working to track and see as many games and players as possible. Each week the scouting staff will post game coverage, scout blog, player video and more.  This will be done in conjunction with Inside the Box, a daily scoreboard with select game and player highlights.

Through all the work to cover high school baseball in North Carolina, our scouting staff will be naming a player and pitcher of the week, each week of the high school regular season. Along with all the games Prep Baseball Scouts will see, cover, and examine, high school coaches will also be able to pass along information on how their players performed.  On Friday of each week, THIS FORM, will be sent to the high school coaches in North Carolina.  All players that are submitted will be considered for Player and Pitcher of the Week.

February 26 - March 2, 2024 Pitcher of the Week

Our pitcher of the week is a familiar name to those that have followed Prep Baseball in North Carolina for the past couple of years.  He was a member of Team Carolina at the 2022 Prep Baseball Future Games, prior to committing to the University of North Carolina.  His 2023 season earned him All-State honors from Prep Baseball Scouts.  

In his first outing of 2024, Walker McDuffie (RHP, Lee County HS, 2024) fired a gem as Lee County upset No. 4 Corinth Holders.  McDuffie was matched pitch for pitch through the first 3 innings by Corinth’s Jett Music (2024, RHP, Campbell commit). In the win, McDuffie fired a complete game, giving up just 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 13.  He threw 96 pitches, 65 for strikes (68%).
