Throughout the 2024 season Prep Baseball Scouts will be working to track and see as many games and players as possible. Each week the scouting staff will post game coverage, scout blog, player video and more.  This will be done in conjunction with Inside the Box, a daily scoreboard with select game and player highlights.

Through all the work to cover high school baseball in North Carolina, our scouting staff will be naming a player and pitcher of the week, each week of the high school regular season. Along with all the games Prep Baseball Scouts will see, cover, and examine, high school coaches will also be able to pass along information on how their players performed.  On Friday of each week, the Prep Baseball staff will contact high school coaches in North Carolina.  All players that are submitted will be considered for Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Each week Prep Baseball will open up the process to baseball fans across North Carolina.  After all the submissions were compiled, the Prep Baseball Staff selects three players.  These players' stats were posted to X and Instagram as part of a poll, where the baseball fans in North Carolina can help select the Player and Pitcher of the Week.

April 8 - 13, 2024 Pitcher of the Week

In a week that saw our closest on-line voting to date for North Carolina Pitcher of the Week, it took perfection to bring the award home.  Andrew Corter (RHP, Chase HS, 2024) worked a 5 inning perfect game on just 57 pitches to help Chase split a week series with Hendersonville.

Coming off a Tuesday loss of 9-6, Corter got a strikeout and two pop ups in the 1st, on 16 pitches.  His offense then staked him to a 6-0 lead as he went back out for the 2nd inning.  From that point forward, Corter worked 4 innings, averaging just over 10 pitches an inning.  In total, Corter threw 37 of his 57 pitches for strikes (65% strikes).  He did not allow any base runners and recorded 5 strikeouts.

For his efforts, Corter was voted on by the fans of Prep Baseball NC on X and Instagram as the North Carolina Pitcher of the Week.
