The 2024 Prep Baseball Future Games will kick off with a workout day at LakePoint in Emerson, GA on Wednesday July 24th.  The event will feature each territory in Prep Baseball bringing the top uncommitted players in their 2026 class.  This event has become a "must see" for college coaches as they are working to get into the rising Junior class.

2024 will feature a new look for the Future Games.  With new recruiting rules in place, limiting contact with prospects prior to August 1st of their Junior year, there was an expectation that some territories may see more top end propsects still uncommitted.  With that said, Team North Carolina will debut in 2024.  For the past five years, North Carolina and South Carolina have combined on a Future Games team, Team Carolina.  Prior to that, North Carolina players played with Virginia and Maryland as part of Team Mid-Atlantic for a year.  This year, Team North Carolina will feature approximately 24 uncommitted 2026 grads, all from North Carolina.

Team North Carolina Schedule:
Wednesday July 24 -- 4:30pm -- Workout Day with Team VA and Team MD
Thursday July 25 -- 7:00pm  -- Game vs. Team South Carolina
Friday July 26 -- 12:30pm -- Game vs. Maryland
Saturday July 27 -- 8:30am -- Live BP on field followed by Game vs. Team Virginia

The Future Games will be played in its entirety at LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, GA on Fields 9, 10, 11, and 12.

Previewing Team North Carolina: Right Handed Pitchers

Colton Haire RHP / OF / Pro5 Baseball Academy, NC / 2026

Haire is an athetlic RHP with a devastating breaking ball that can create freeze in the zone and chase out of the zone.  Paired with a fastball with life, Haire presents a lot of issues for hitters.

Greyson Jones RHP / 2B / West Forsyth High, NC / 2026

High Pitch-ability righty as he matured, the stuff took a big jump this year.  The fastball will show life with arm speed and arm strength.  The breaking ball works from a similar window before darting through its 10/4 break.  Jones has the ability to attack in a lot of ways.

Chase Kiker RHP / 3B / Metrolina Chrisitan Academy, NC / 2026

Kiker will have one of the more anticipated outings at the Future Games as his SO year and subsequent summer have moved him up on a lot of lists.  3 pitch mix with swing and miss stuff, plus the ability to mess with hitters timing in his delivery, makes him a nightmare to face.  The fastball has been in the low 90s. This spring Kiker accepted the challenge as a young arm, helping to win the NCISA 4A State Championship.

Amos Rich OF / RHP / Tuscola High, NC / 2026

Rich jumped up the list in a playoff outing against eventual state champion East Rowan, controlling a very good offense with a combination of a fastball with good ride and a top to bottom breaking ball he threw for a strike.  As the summer started, the stuff ticked up again at the NPI, seeing low 90s with 20in of IVB.

Charlie Shaver RHP / North Stanly High, NC / 2026

He can pitch. Shaver will attack the strike zone with a lot of different ways to attack hitters. The stuff plays up with his control and feel for pitching, but it does not have to play up much to be considered one of the top arms in the 2026 class. Shaver is a dream to play behind as the defense will be in the game. Stuff is good enough to take care of outs himself when needed.

Nic Stutzman RHP / SS / Stuart W. Cramer, NC / 2026

An arm that has continued to grow, Stutzman has been dynamic at times this summer.  He may be a name that takes a big jump as the college coaches in attendance get the chance to see him on this stage. Expect the fastball to present issues for hitters as it works in the low 90s.

Cameron Tarkenton RHP / Cardinal Gibbons, NC / 2026

Tarenton is recently back open to all recruiting opportunities and there is not a better time as he has simply been dominant most of the summer. Easy to dream on the body and arm action.  While the stuff is advanced now, and he can attack hitters with his plan, it is the thought of what the arm may produce in the next 2 - 5 years that has a lot of people really excited.

William Vetter RHP / 3B / Cary High, NC / 2026

There are sink/slide guys that produce weak contact and then there are Will Vetter types that use their sink/slide to create embarssament for hitters. The two pitch combination screwed hitters into the ground at the 2024 NPI to start the summer. From there, the stuff has become consistent and Vetter has grown in his ability to attack hitters. We are looking forward to seeing Vetter attack hitters with a "here it is" mentality.
