PBR was in Raleigh, NC on Wednesday October 28th at North Raleigh Christian Academy to run the Triangle Prospect ID with Advanced Analytics, in conjunction with the PBR Scout Day with the Rawlings Prospects.  The event saw 15 prospects in attendance, 14 from NC and 1 from IL.  Most of the North Carolina participants were from the Triangle Area of the state.

Position players kicked the day off with a full pro-style workout, including a laser timed 60 yard dash.  The offensive evaluation included full ball flight data during live BP, with an exit velocity.  Defensively, players worked out from their primary position, allowing coaches and scouts to get a full view of athleticism, arm strength, hands, feet, and accuracy on throws.

After the position players, pitchers in attendance went through a controlled bullpen.  The bullpen included TrackMan gathering ball flight information from the release, including velocity, spin rates, and movement metrics.

Quick Hitters - Position Players

Jake Barbour, SS/OF, 2023  -  Left hand hitter has feel for his barrel using the whole field with a line drive approach. Barrel stays through with above average bat speed. Above average hands on the infield, accurate arm with some carry from the outfield. Posted a 7.05 in the 60. 

Gavin Johnson, OF/2B, 2023  -  Compact swing with a gap to gap approach from the left side of the plate. Hands and barrel have quickness. Accurate arm defensively. 

Ethan Goldstein, SS/RHP, 2022  -  Hits from the left side with a fluid swing. Has above average bat speed and barrel awareness. Barrel stays through the zone and left the yard to his pull side during BP. Better than average hands on the infield with accuracy across the diamond. 

Holden Cooper, C/SS, 2024  -  Loose swing with quickness to his barrel through the zone. Balanced approach making hard contact through the middle of the field. Solid actions on the infield with better than average hands. Best pop time recorded at 2.04. 

Henry Rausch, SS/RHP, 2021  -  Athleticism is present in a 6-foot-1, 155-pound frame. Loose swing with his barrel working flat through the zone. Lots of barrels through the middle of the field with quickness to his hands. Better than average hands on the infield. 

Dalton Ausley, C/1B, 2022  -  Barrel stays through the zone making hard contact through the middle and to his pull side. Best pop time recorded at 2.03. 

Nolan Lawrence, 3B/RHP, 2021  -  Has barrel feel working through the middle of the field. Left the yard during BP with ball off the bat recorded by Trackman up to 92.7 mph. Recorded a 7.18 in the 60 with strength present in a 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame. 

Jacob Scott, 1B/RHP, 2021  -  Short swing with above average bat speed. Made lots of hard contact during BP with a ball going deep over the wall in left field. Strong build at 6-foot-2, 205-pounds. 

Sterling Bass, LHP/1B, 2024  -  Strength present in 6-foot-3, 220-pound build. Has lift to his swing path, getting extension out front working through the middle and to his pull side. Has feel for his barrel with quickness to his hands from the left side of the plate.
