The Five" is a weekly blog that highlights high-performing athletes from across North Carolina.  PBR Scouts use information gathered from PBR events, PBR Scout Days, and PBR Tournaments to put together the weekly list of five players

This week "The Five" highlights players from the Dry Pond Blue Sox Scout Day held back in September at Moor Park in Mooresville, NC. The players went through a full pro-style workout. Featured below are some standouts from the workout. As usual all are uncommitted.

SCOUTING REPORT

-Has deception with arm speed through a high 3/4 slot
-Locates his fastball to both sides of the plate
-Curveball has late break with 11/5 action
-Slider has sweeping action

 

Positional Profile: RHP/3B. 
Body: 6_4, 200 pounds. 
Delivery: Small side step and turn, gathering before lifting to the low-chest. 1B side of the rubber. Slightly closed at balance. Stable head. Lands on-line and square. Good extension. Athletic finish
Arm Action: R. Long arm swing. Ball hidden behind body line. Works with ease to a high-3/4 slot. Average to above arm speed.
FB: T85, 84-85 mph. 2160 rpm. Arm side run out of the hand. 1:15 spin tilt. Flooded the zone with feel for both sides of the plate
CB: 69-72 mph. 2343 rpm. Consistent late tilt. 11/5 action. Good arm speed.
SL: 0 mph. 2279 rpm. Sweeping action out of the hand. Good arm speed. Short action.
CH: 75-76 (CH) 78-79 (SPL) mph. 0 rpm. Run out of the hand with solid arm speed on the change-up. Splitter has soft downer action.
