TPA Open ID: Quick Hitters

PBR was at Jim Perry Stadium on the campus of Campbell University on Sunday August 8th. Players from the 2022-2025 grad classes were hand to run through the workout for The Performance Academy. PBR organized the day and helped collect numbers during the workout.
The day started with catchers going through their defensive evaluations making throws to second base with radar guns and stopwatches being used to gather information. Pitchers followed by throwing bullpens. After bullpens position players went through several offensive stations including live BP on the field and a laser timed 60.

Quick Hitters
Ethan Clinkscales, OF/RHP, 2022
Strong athletic build at 5-foot-10, 185-pounds. Hands are quick with a flat barrel path through the zone. Lined balls to his pull side in BP. Ran a 6.73 laser timed 60.
5-foot-10, 160-pound build. Left hand hitter. Hit several balls off the barrel in BP. Balanced swing with a direct barrel path staying through the ball. Uses the whole field. Posted a 6.71 laser timed 60.
Seth Davis, 2B/SS, 2B/SS, 2023
5-foot-9, 145-pound build. Lined balls to his pull side during BP. Hands are quick with a short path to the ball. Solid actions on the infield with quick feet.
Strength present in a 6-foot, 172-pound frame. Left hand hitter. Loose swing with a flat barrel path through the zone. Hit several line drives in BP. Has strength to his pull side.
6-foot-1, 170-pound build. Made hard contact to his pull side in BP. Ran a 7.07 60 on the lasers. Fastball topped at 81 mph off the mound.
6-foot-1, 185-pound build. Barrel stays through the zone. Lined balls to both gaps in BP. Hands have quickness with better than average bat speed.
Strength and quickness present in a 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame. Posted the top 60-time on the day at 6.59. There is movement in the swing but the hands are strong and quick. Made hard contact to his pull side. Arm topped at 86 mph from the outfield..
5-foot-10, 160-pound build. Balanced, short swing. Barrel gets extension out front with a gap to gap approach. Squared up several balls in BP. Ran a 7.00 60 on the lasers.
Drake Della Ratta, SS/RHP, 2024
Athleticism present in a 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame. Barrel is short to the ball and stays through the zone. Lined balls to both gaps in BP. Solid actions on the infield. Fastball reached 78 mph.
5-foot-10, 150-pound build with room for maturation ahead. Switch hitter. Athletic in the box with a fluid swing. Ball comes hard off the barrel. Athletic defender with sure hands.
5-foot-9, 140-pound frame. Balanced swing. Hands are loose and quick. Barrel stays through the zone with a middle of the field approach.
5-foot-10, 150-pound build. Left hand hitter. Has feel for his barrel with the ability to use the whole field. Better than average bat speed with strength off the barrel.
5-foot-11, 150-pound build. Left hand hitter with a simple, balanced swing. Flat barrel path lining balls to both gaps. Fastball topped at 75 mph off the mound.
Strong build at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds. Made hard contact during BP. Mostly flat barrel path working through the middle and to his pull side. Fastball reached 81 mph.
5-foot-6, 135-pound build. Hit several line drives during BP. Short, balanced swing with a middle of the field approach. Solid actions on the infield.
5-foot-10, 155-pound build. Hands are quick with his barrel getting extension out front. Made hard contact to his pull side.
Tommy Williams III, 3B/2B, 2024
Athletic, projectable build at 6-foot, 171-pounds. Hands are strong and quick. Hit balls hard to his pull side. Better than average bat speed. Ran a 7.00 60-time on the lasers.
5-foot-11, 150-pound build. Has strength for his age. Lined balls to the left center gap. Direct path to the ball with quick hands. Fastball topped at 75 mph.
5-foot-11, 140-pound build. Short, balanced swing with quick hands. Lined balls to his pull side. Better than average barrel feel and bat speed for his age.
6-foot, 140-pound build. Loose, clean arm action with his fastball topping at 75 mph. Worked through the middle of the field with a direct barrel path. Ran a 7.12 laser timed 60.
5-foot-8, 145-pound build. Has strength with some lift to the swing path. Lined balls through the middle of the field. Ran a 7.01 laser timed 60.
5-foot-6, 125-pound build. Loose swing with his barrel staying through the zone. Consistently hit balls off his barrel working to both gaps. Best pop time recorded at 2.13.
5-foot-11, 145-pound build. Left hand hitter with a flat swing path. Lined balls to the opposite field gap. Stays balanced throughout the swing.
5-foot-10, 140-pound build. Athletic in the box with some quickness to his hands. Hit balls off his barrel to his pull side. Above average actions on the infield.
5-foot-9, 140-pound build. Left hand hitter with a simple, balanced swing. Barrel stays through the zone working to both gaps. Hands work with some ease behind the plate.
Projectable frame at 6-foot-1,156-pounds. East effort to his delivery with his fastball sitting at 82-84 mph. Lined balls to both gaps in BP. Arm topped at 85 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.25 laser timed 60.
5-foot-9, 145-pound build. Hands are quick with his barrel staying through the zone. Better than average bat speed working through the middle and to his pull side. Arm topped at 83 mph from the outfield.
5-foot-9, 160-pound build. Left hand hitter. Loose, balance swing. Uses the whole field with his barrel staying through the zone. Ran a 6.96 laser timed 60.
Hands are strong and quick with lift to the swing path. Made hard contact to both gaps in BP. Better than average feel for his barrel.
6-foot-5, 205-pound build. Clean arm action with not much effort to the delivery. Has projection ahead. Fastball topped at 85 mph. Breaking ball at 71-74 mph.
5-foot-9, 165-pound build. Long, loose arm action with his fastball reaching 81 mph. Has feel for his secondary offerings.
