PBR Scouts were in attendance for the 2022 State Games of North Carolina, hosted this year in Durham and Chapel Hill. On Monday June 13th, the workout day was hosted at Historic Durham Athletic Park. Day 1 featured all 8 regions going through a pro-style workout. Days 2 and 3 moved to Boshamer Stadium on the campus of UNC for the round robin game play. PBR only attended 2 of the scheduled 4 game days due to our Scouts' schedules, but we were able to get a very good look at some of the top talent from across North Carolina.
The State Games is an annual event for HS Baseball players in NC. The state is split geographically into 8 regions with each region running tryouts to select their roster for the State Games. The State Games consists of a workout day with a hand timed 60, live BP, and defensive workout. The following 4 days see game play with a round robin format leading to pool winners playing for the gold medal.
Below we take a look at some of the leaders from the workout and game play, in statistical categories that were tracked by PBR Scouts.
