SPARTANBURG METHODIST VS NO. 35 CATAWBA VALLEY CC

Game 1- CVCC- 2  SMC-1 

SMC visited Nationally ranked CVCC for a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday. CVCC sits at No. 35 in PBR’s most recent JUCO rankings. Game one was a tight one with both starting pitchers escaping jams early to prevent big innings. CVCC took advantage of a hit and a couple walks to score 2 runs on a James Hinson line drive single to right field. Four CVCC arms combined to allow 1 earned run in 7 innings while striking out 10. 

Game 2- CVCC- 13  SMC- 8

The bats came alive early in game two with CVCC scoring 8 in the bottom of the first. SMC got the close getting the score to 9-7 after the top of the fourth but CVCC answered with 4 more in the bottom half of the inning to separate for good. James Hinson and Will Samuelson both homered for the Red Hawks combining for 7 RBI’s.
