Scout Blog: BIC Pitcher-Catcher Camp
January 28, 2020
As we hit January of each year, the high school players across the state of North Carolina are working to get primed up for a big run to May and June. As part of the process, pitchers are beginning to throw bullpens and that means PBR scouts are out watching and preparing for their spring as well.
On Saturday, PBR was at Carolina Baseball Center (CBC) on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina, just south of Charlotte. CBC hosted 20+ pitchers and catchers from NC and SC. Catchers were able to go through multiple rounds of BP and then throw pop times for college coaches and scouts in attendance. Pitchers threw controlled bullpens, understanding it is still January and most arms are still building arm strength and pitch counts.
Below is a quick look at some of the stats from the workout. We will follow up on this blog with more information on select pitchers and catchers in a Scout Blog.
