Roberson vs. National Field
April 4, 2023
TC Roberson was the North Carolina representative at the 2023 National High School Invitational (NHS) hosted by USA Baseball at the National Training Center in Cary, NC. The event ran from March 29 - April 1. The single elimination format features teams assigned to a 4 team bracket with the winners from day one playing one another and the losers playing. From there, a consolation bracket is setup for teams with 1 or 2 losses while the undefeated teams move to their elimination bracket.
Roberson, ranked No. 4 in PBR’s NC Power 25, played 4 games vs. 4 highly regarded teams. At the end of the week, the Rams played well in spurts and probably walk away feeling they had a chance to win 2-3 games on the week, but dropped all 4 games. Below is a quick recap of each game TC Roberson played along with a scout blog on players that caught the attention of PBR Scouts attending the NHSI.
Game 1: Santa Margarita Catholic (CA) vs. TC Roberson

Doral pushed two runs across on a 1 out SAC Fly and a single following an infield error that pushed the Doral lead to 2-0.
TC Roberson battled back in the top of the 6th. Zeb Swangim drew a leadoff walk and scored on Nick Parham’s double down the left field line. Unfortunately, Parham would be stranded and Michael Torres (2024 OF/LHP, Miami commit) would close the door, tossing the final 1.2 innings for a save.
