PBR Scout Day Evaluations: The Punisher Prospects

PBR summer evaluations are rolling right along. PBR was on hand for a combined scout day with Top Prospect Baseball and the Punisher Prospects. Each team's players had the opportunity to go through a full pro-style workout prior to playing in controlled scrimmages.
Today we take a look at players participating from the Punisher Prospect program. A full evaluation on each player, with statistics from the scout day, as well as a link back to the player's PBR Profile page. Scout Day Evaluations: Punisher Prospects
Avery Bridges 1B / OF / Burns , NC / 20206 foot 3, 215-pound strong, athletic build. Sets up tall and balanced from the right side of the plate. Smooth load with his weight working back using a short stride. Loose hands with some lift in his swing. Worked mostly middle to his pull side, leaving the yard during batting practice. Made consistent hard contact with average bat speed and strength in the swing. Exit velocity recorded at 87 mph. Plays through balls in the outfield with fluid feet and average hands. Clean transfers with a long arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot. Accurate arm that topped at 85 mph. Active feet at first base with average hands. Accurate arm that topped at 77 mph. Recorded a 7.35 in the 60. |
Jeb Bridges OF / SS / Burns, NC / 20215 foot 11, 160-pound average build. Balanced setup from the right side of the plate, sitting into his legs. Weight works back during his load with a short stride. Works mostly middle to his pull side with some length in his swing. Some feel for the barrel at times with average bat speed. Exit velocity recorded at 79 mph. Plays through balls in the outfield with quick feet and average hands. Uses a long arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot with his arm topping at 79 mph from the outfield. Quick feet on the infield with average hands and a quick exchange, using a short arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot. Accurate arm that topped at 73 mph across the diamond. Recorded a 7.14 in the 60. |
Clayson Chapman SS / RHP / Bunker Hill, NC / 20215 foot 8, 160-pound build with a strong lower half. Athletic, balanced setup from the right side of the plate. Uses a small leg kick during his load with his hands working slightly down and back. Quick hands keeping his barrel in the zone. Balanced swing with a line drive approach, getting extension out front. Feel for the barrel using the whole field during his batting practice. Average bat speed with his exit velocity recorded at 82 mph. Plays athletic on the infield with quick feet and average hands. Quick transfers with a short arm action and the ability to use different slots. Accurate arm with carry across the diamond topping at 85 mph. Recorded a 7.39 in the 60. |
Bradley Jordan RHP / C / Burns, NC / 20206 foot 3, 150-pound lanky build. Offensively he works from the right side with a balanced setup. Hands work back during the load with a short stride. Barrel works level through the zone with some length in the swing. Works mostly to his pull side. Exit velocity recorded at 76 mph. Plays through balls in the outfield with average hands, clean exchanges, using a long arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot. Some accuracy to his throws that topped at 74 mph. Recorded a 7.48 in the 60. |
Casey Knighton RHP / 3B / Bunker Hill, NC / 20215 foot 7, 190-pound build. Slower tempo to the delivery, starting with a small step to the side, going into his leg lift working just above his belt. Some hip and shoulder turn at the balance point. In line to the plate with a closed toe landing. Shorter arm action, throwing form an over the top slot with some upper body lean to the first base side. Filled up the strike zone with his fastball working mostly 75-77 mph, topping at 79 mph. Shows feel for his changeup at 68 mph. Flashed a breaking ball at 59 mph. |
Seth Moore OF / RHP / Bunker Hill, NC / 20206 foot 3, 165-pound lanky build with plenty of room to fill out. Hits from the right side using a balanced, athletic setup. Quick load working knee to knee in his lower half with his barrel tipping. Some quickness to his hands working through the swing. Flashes feel for the barrel when everything syncs up during his load. Works mostly to his pull side with average bat speed. Exit velocity recorded at 79 mph. Athletically plays through balls in the outfield with fluid feet and average hands. Uses a long arm action, throwing from an over the top slot. Accurate arm with some carry to his throws topping at 86 mph. Recorded a 6.96 in the 60. |
Joseph Webb 3B / RHP / Burns , NC / 20225 foot 11, 155-pound average build. Hits from the right side using a balanced setup. Uses a short stride during his load with his weight and hands working slightly back. Balanced swing with his barrel working mostly level through the zone. Looks to stay gap to gap with a line drive approach with some feel for the barrel. Exit velocity recorded at 75 mph. Active feet on the infield, playing through the ball with average hands. Funnels to the midsection after catch with clean exchanges, using a short arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot. Arm topped at 69 mph across the diamond. Recorded a 7.97 in the 60. |
