The action heated up during Day Three of the World Wood Bat Championship in Jupiter on Saturday as teams battled to get into Sunday’s playoff round. 2018 RHP Landon Marceaux (Destrahan HS, LA) set the tone for Team Evoshield by going five no-hit innings with eight strikeouts and one walk. The future LSU Tiger was extremely efficient needing just 64 pitches (46 strikes) to get through the outing. Marceaux utilized a fastball that sat 86-88 mph and touched 90 without, hardly, any effort. His command of the fastball to both sides of the plate, a sharp 11/5 curveball (75-77 mph), and fading changeup (78-79 mph) demonstrated advanced pitchability. Almost appearing bored, Marceaux crafted his pitches with thoughtful intent and precision utilizing a fluent motion and quick arm to dominate the opposition. His command is already a major weapon, and he will see an increase in velocity as he continues to mature...
