North Carolina 2021 Rankings Updated

Matt Payne
Director of Scouting, PBR of NC

With the high school season just around the corner the Class of 2021 is gearing up for their senior season. In what has been an unprecedented year players across the state have continued to work on their craft and show what they have to offer at the next level. PBR was able to run several events and scout days throughout the fall to give players a chance to show their progress. After a successful fall we have updated the class of 2021 player rankings heading into the spring.

The top three in the rankings remain unchanged with Josh Hartle (LHP, Reagan), Kahlil Watson (SS, Wake Forest), and Philip Abner (LHP, Charlotte Christian) all high on MLB teams draft boards. Dalen Thompson (SS, Triton) jumps into the top 20 after a strong showing at big events this fall. There were several guys joining the rankings for the first time with four ranking in the top 100. Newcomer Landon Howard (3B, Covenant Day) video below, ranks at No. 55 overall after a strong showing at the South Charlotte Braves Scout day. The biggest jump in the rankings belongs to Aidan Smith (RHP, Gaston Day) jumping 98 spots to No. 79.

In the coming days we will break down the updated Class of 2021 rankings. Below is a sneak peak at the top 10. To see the entire list, expanded to the 275 players in the state, see the link below. You must be logged in as a subscriber to see the entire list.
