NC Procase Quick Hitters
February 12, 2018
The first North Carolina PBR Procase featured twenty of the top players from North Carolina. The purpose of the event is to give pro scouts an early look at some of the high school players they will be working to see this spring.
The event took place on Sunday February 11th at Diamond Xtreme Training in Kernersville, NC. Diamond Xtreme is a unique facility in North Carolina as it allows space for 4+ cages, a weight room, and a 90’ x 90’ caged and netted area. Within the big 90’ x 90’ cage, position players were able to run a timed 30 and take batting practice where PBR and the pro scouts in attendance could see the ball fly. Infielders were able to take ground balls from shortstop, throwing across the diamond. Catchers were able to make full throws to 2B. Outfielders were able to play ground balls off the bat, throwing more than 120 feet to a target.
In the coming week, we will take a full, in depth look at the players in attendance with statistical information, evaluations, and video. Today, Prep Baseball Report’s North Carolina Director of Scouting gives some quick takes from the inaugural event that is sure to grow even larger in the coming years.

PBR North Carolina Procase Quick Hitters:
+ Rain is a Good Thing
The area was saturated with rain over the weekend. This worked out well for the Procase as area scouts were working to see as much as they could, with limited options. A lot of area college games and practices were affected by the wet weather. With the facility at Diamond Xtreme, scouts were able to get a great preseason look at a great group of players. Over 30 professional scouts were in attendance for the 1st North Carolina PBR Procase.
