February 11, 2022
Brandon Hall
Mid-Atlantic Executive Director
On Sunday, February 13th, the 5th annual North Carolina ProCase will take place at Diamond Xtreme in Kernersville, NC. Diamond Xtreme is a beautiful facility that allows for scouts and coaches to pile in to see some of the top upperclassmen in NC. Position players will be able to simulate a full infield for their defensive work, while hitters will hit in the 90’x90’ box, seeing the ball fly.
For the 1st four years of the event, the rosters have been loaded with talent and draft prospects. The 2022 addition will again feature approximately 25 of the top players in NC. Below we take a look at some of the names that will be on the roster on Sunday.

CATCHERS & OUTFIELDERS
Brooks Brannon C / OF / Randleman, NC / 2022
- UNC Commit
- Attended the prestigous PBR Super 60 last weekend
- Led all catchers with a 1.93 pop time and an exit velocity of 103mph
- The NC ProCase record of 104 off the bat could be in jeopardy
Seth Christmas C / SS / Hopewell, NC / 2022
- Gaston College (JC) Commit
- Team Carolina alum from the 2020 PBR Future Games
- Physical hitter that will have the chance to play all over the field to get his bat in the lineup
Graham Smiley C / 3B / East Lincoln, NC / 2022
- North Carolina State commit
- One of the better catching athletes in the mid-atlantic, where his tools should continue to climb as he continues to add strength to his frame.
- Attended the 2021 PBR NC ProCase
Luke Stevenson C / 3B / Wake Forest, NC / 2023
- UNC Commit
- One of the top left handed hitters in the state, regardless of class
- Major steps forward in the past year where the bat stood out and carried his prospects, but don't sleep on his ability to handle pitchers and control the run game.
Bristol Carter OF / SS / Northwest Guilford, NC / 2023
- East Carolina commit
- One of the fastest players in the state
- Multi-sport star is probably just scratching the surface of what he could quickly become as he gets to campus, but there is another year for him to continue to grow on the diamond.
MIDDLE INFIELDERS
Gavin Gallaher SS / 2B / Crossroads Flex, NC / 2023
- UNC commit
- A polished middle infielder with a strong bat
- Stood out at the 2021 PBR Top Prospect Games where his fundamental skill was beginning to see the fruits of his efforts in the weight room
Keegan Knutson SS / 2B / Combine Academy, NC / 2022
- San Jacinto JC commit
- 2nd PBR ProCase
- Strong right handed hitter with solid actions on the infield. Plays with a high motor ticking up his tools across the board in game play.
Garrett Michel 2B / OF / East Lincoln , NC / 2022
- Virginia Tech commit
- One of the top hitters in the state, always seems to be on time and find the barrel. Power numbers have increased as he has continued to add strength to his frame.
- Showing more versatility in the field as he matures. If he can show he can stick in the middle of the field, the stock will continue to rise.
Nick Parham SS / RHP / T.C. Roberson, NC / 2023
- East Carolina commit
- Team Carolina alum from the 2021 PBR Future Games
- Big winner from the Future Games, showing an ability to project to stay at SS while showing a high level of barrel feel against some of the elite arms in the '23 and '24 classes. Plays with a high motor and an excellent baseball IQ.
Tyler Zedalis SS / 3B / Cox Mill, NC / 2023
- South Carolina commit
- Easy to project natural power in the frame and the swing. The athleticism has a chance to set him apart from others in his class, in the box.
- Has continued to make progress on the infield, where he will play more in the middle of the field this year. If he can stick in the middle, the bat plays well above average.
CORNER INFIELDERS
Xavier Isaac 1B / OF / East Forsyth, NC / 2022
- Florida commit
- One of the elite power hitters in his class, nationally, Isaac missed some time due to an injury that he is ready to show has completely healed.
- Scouts will be working to see as many swings a possible throughout the spring. The ProCase gives him a controlled environment to jump back into the spotlight.
Gage Miller 3B / SS / Asheboro, NC / 2023
- NC State commit
- One of the elite bats in the '23 class made a huge statement in the fall of '20 putting on a show at a PBR ID event. Since then he has added muscle to the frame, keeping his twitch through the zone, which could create a ton of issues for pitchers moving forward.
- Attended the 2022 Preseason All-State a couple of weeks ago, earning an invite to the NC ProCase.
Judd Utermark 3B / SS / Charlotte Christian, NC / 2022
- Ole Miss commit
- One of the more physcial hitters in North Carolina, there is definite power projection.
- A very good athlete, Utermark has continued to develop his skills while filling out the muscular frame.
PITCHERS
Matthew Driver RHP / Pro5 Academy, NC / 2022
- Uncommitted
- Earned an invite to the NC ProCase with his performance at the Preseason All-State a couple of weeks ago.
- Fastball ran up to 91 with a fairly clean arm path. Body and frame suggest he is still working toward his ceiling.
Everette Harris RHP / Charlotte Christian, NC / 2022
- NC State commit
- Big winner from a PBR ID in 2020, after the shortened COVID season. Arm speed and athleticism created a lot of buzz.
- The twitch and arm speed can be hard to harness for younger pitchers, but the projection is easy, especially when Harris has begun to show feel for his arsenal.
Harrison Lewis RHP / 1B / West Forsyth, NC / 2023
- Uncommitted
- Team Carolina alum from the 2021 PBR Future Games
- Potential Dual Player at the college level. Big arm and power profile in the box. Where he lands, and what he may excel at in the future, is still being developed. There is big upside to Lewis as both a hitter and pitcher.
Chance Mako RHP / 3B / East Rowan, NC / 2023
- NC State commit
- One of the top arms in the country in the '23 class, the frame, athleticism, and stuff all scream uber projection.
- The athleticism does play in the box where Mako could be a potential impact player as both a pitcher and hitter. He does profile higher on the mound, but we are not going to sleep on the bat at this time.
Zac Martin RHP / Foard, NC / 2022
- Catawba Valley CC commit
- Team Carolina alum from the 2020 PBR Future Games
- Clean, athletic delivery makes it easy to dream what the stuff will be as size is added to the 6-foot-4 frame.
- Has learned to pitch as the stuff continues to develop. If the fastball takes off like the projection suggests, he could be positioned to give hitters fits at a lot of levels moving forward.
Brodie McFadden RHP / OF / Wake Christian, NC / 2022
- Coastal Carolina commit
- Big right hander has forced his way onto the follow lists with performances in bullpens, sometimes working into the low to mid 90s.
Jackson Roberts RHP / OF / Northern Guilford , NC / 2022
- Campbell commit
- Part of a heralded class of arms heading to Campbell, this is Roberts' 2nd PBR ProCase.
- The metrics suggest he has a chance to miss a lot of bats. High spin fastball and breaking ball could create easy outs moving forward.
Mason Smith RHP / SS / Lincoln Charter, NC / 2022
- East Carolina commit
- Athlete that has continued to climb up the boards, with his stuff climbing, as the frame has matured.
- An arm that had to learn to pitch first, is now creating a lot of ways to frustrate hitters as the stuff has continued to make big jumps.
