NC: Power Arms Meet as Ardrey Kell Hosts #1 Providence

#1 Providence  6 Ardrey Kell  1

PBR was on hand for a rivalry renewed as Providence traveled to Ardrey Kell HS.  In past years, this may have been to determine the top of the conference standings, but these clubs now reside in separate conferences.

Providence started quick, plating 3 runs in the first as JR RHP Jacob Kirby got off to a slow start.  The inning started with a hit-by-pitch, followed by back to back errors, the later coming from Kirby on a SAC bunt attempt.  The 3 runs would plate on just 1 hit.

On the bump, the Panthers turned the lead over to SR RHP Eli Jerzembeck.  Jerzembeck had an audience of pro scouts on hand to see the big right-hander toe the rubber and he did not disappoint, striking out 11 in a complete game win on just 86 pitches.

Kirby did settle in but Providence was able to push single runs across in the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th, to grow the lead to 6-1.  SR. LHP Andrew Sentlinger worked the final 2 innings for the Knights, striking out 4 without giving up a hit.

With the loss, Ardrey Kell fell to 8-4 on the year.  Providence improved to 15-0.
