NC Fall Review: Top Exit Velocities
December 15, 2021
Throughout the fall, PBR Scouts were working to continue our coverage of the players and teams in the Palmetto State. This included covering events, practices, games, and PBR's own events. During PBR Events, players run through a modified pro-style workout. The position player portion of the workout includes a laser timed 60, offensive workout, and defensive workout. PBR uses TrackMan to track ball flight during BP. Pitchers throw controlled bullpens, again with TrackMan gathering information on each pitch.
Information gathered by PBR Scouts is added to each players' PBR Profile. With over 900 colleges and every MLB organization subscribed to PBR, the information is easily accessible as teams are searching for their future players. In 2021, PBR Player Profiles averaged over 1 million hits per month. A full player profile will include stats, advanced analytics from TrackMan and Blast, video, and scouting evaluations. By housing all of the information in one place, coaches and scouts can see what a player is, as well as build history, allowing an easier path to future projection in their analysis.
